to quote

Quotes are “the expression … of the childish instinct to impose literally on the reader what one had read for one’s own consolation, in place to leave it be the silent and reassuring background of one’s own voice.”

Thomas Mann: Betrachtungen eines Unpolitischen. Berlin 1919: S.XI. (my own improbable translation…)

Welcome to my book of readings,

I admit happily to have fallen for the childish instinct to drown you here in quotes. You will find on these pages (“Maltes Lesebuch“) a lot of texts which are important to me, or which I just found interesting. Every quote is represented on the right by a keyword and they are linked among each other to enable you to jump freely from one to another.

Some of my own writings, pamphlets, outbursts you’ll find in a small section called “Maltes Notizbuch“.

Happy readings – I hope you will find it pleasant, every email reaction motivates me to continue.

Malte.
